This Chardonnay convinces with a strong, straw yellow color and with a complex play of fruity aromas: citrus and orange peel, some lime blossom, mineral richness and a spicy hint of tobacco. The Chardonnay "Cardellino" was the first wine by Elena Walch and is still probably the most popular wine of the winery. According to an old tale, the goldfinch - the "cardellino" - builds its nest only in Chardonnay vines, while not nesting in other grape varieties. Elena Walch has thus dedicated her debut, an elegant and characterful Chardonnay, which has gained many lovers with minerality, freshness, paired with suppleness and excellent structure.

Rather looser, calcareous clay soil with deep sand veins of interglacial origin.
Ernte:
Strictly picked by hand.
Vinification:
Soft pressing, static clarification, fermentation (partly in wooden barrels) at a controlled temperature of approx. 20 °C, long contact with yeast after fermentation.
Ageing:
A part of the wine (15%) matures in French oak barriques on its lees for 6 months. Final blending in spring.
