The regional appellation applies to Crémant (sparkling wine according to the champagne method) in the French wine-growing region of Bordeaux. It was introduced in 1990 and replaced the AC Bordeaux Mousseux, which was valid until 1995. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Colombard, Malbec, Merlot, Muscadelle, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Ugni Blanc are permitted for white wines. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot are authorised for rosé. Versions from dry to sweet are produced. © Wein-Plus
