Weingut Krug was established in Gumpoldskirchen in 1746. It comprises of thirty-four hectares of vineyards on loam and calcareous soils in the best sites of Gumpoldskirchen. The mild, climate of the Thermenregion and superb soils provide advantageous conditions for Krug to produce wonderful, powerful, multi-layered white wines and red wines that offer both early drinking pleasure and good ageing potential. 60% of the production is white wine. The goal of the winery is to produce high quality wines with outstanding regional character. The vineyards are tended attentively to achieve this goal. Only ripe and healthy grapes arrive in the winery to be pressed. The most comfortable way to discover and taste the wines of Gustav Krug is to visit the family heuriger (wine tavern) called Alten Zechhaus.
