Château Charmail

Chateau Charmail is located, nestled in the municipality of Saint Seurin de Cadourne, on the banks of the Gironde River, at the edge of the Saint Estephe appellation, right next to Sociando Mallet. Its roots can be traced back to the Middle Ages. Since 1750, Chateau Charmail has been highly regarded. In 1932, the well-deserved recognition for hard work came: access to the official ranking of Cru Bourgeois. In 2008, Bernard d'Halluin acquired the estate, and his daughter Marie is responsible for presentations and marketing. Olivier Sèze, the owner of the vineyards until 2008, continues to work as the manager and sees Chateau Charmail as the culmination of an effort to create full-bodied wines that are more accessible without risking a loss of bouquet quality during extended aging. He places great importance on velvety tannins and full fruit expression. By now, Chateau Charmail can confidently be counted among the extended upper class of Haut Medoc.
