The Thermenregion comprises 1,851 hectares of vineyards on the edge of the Vienna Woods and is Lower Austria's youngest DAC origin. From the 2023 vintage, typical wines from autochthonous and Burgundy varieties will be marketed as "Thermenregion DAC". The northern part is dominated by fruity, full-bodied white wines from the indigenous Zierfandler and Rotgipfler varieties. Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc also set accents. The south is a classic red wine stronghold with the black cherry-scented St. Laurent and the elegant Pinot Noir as flagship wines. The wine varieties for the Thermenregion DAC regional wines (without naming the municipality or vineyard) have been expanded to include Neuburger, Gemischter Satz and Blauer Portugieser in keeping with the tradition of great diversity. For the local wines, Pinot Gris and Zweigelt (Rotburger) are also bottled under the DAC seal.
